Members of our Board of Directors serve a term of three years and are elected at the annual member meeting held the first Monday in December. The current Board of Directors members are:
Graduating from the University Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a History Minor, Sue has been an international farm inspector, owned and operated a small cheese factory, and in 2005 moved to Ely to begin a new life as the owner of the Adventure Inn. Sue is proud to call Ely home.
Tim holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh UK. He has held many positions in the banking and finance world throughout his career. Most recently he spent ten years with Wells Fargo, as the Community Banking President and later Certified Financial Planner/Trust Officer, until he retired in 2015. Currently, Tim works in a limited capacity with the City of Ely as the Planning and Zoning Administrator and he enjoys volunteering in various capacities such as the VCC Foundation Board of Directors and the Ely Rotary Club.
Kelly is the managing Attorney at the Klun Law Firm. A graduate of the College of St. Scholastica, Hamline School of Law, and currently enrolled in the U of M Carlson School of Management, Kelly brings the hospital a wide range of relevant experience. She believes Ely-Bloomenson’s fiscal health and long term viability is critical to its future.
Scott was the Chief Financial Officer for EBCH from 1984 to 2019. He has a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration - Finance from the University of MN, Minneapolis. Scott prides himself on helping bring the hospital from a very weak financial position when he started to a very strong financial position upon his retirement. In addition to his work at the hospital, Scott is currently a member and treasurer of the Ely Regional Complex Board. He has also served as a Director of the Ely Area Ambulance Service Board and dedicated over 20 years as a Director on the Ely Public School District #696 Board.
Jim, a native of Ely, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and works for Cliffs Natural Resources. “I am truly honored and excited for the opportunity to contribute to the success and sustainability of the EBCH,” he says. “Ely is a wonderful community which I am proud to call home.”
Jo was born and born in Windom, MN, and raised on a farm near Storden, MN, located in southwestern Minnesota. Following college graduation, Jo lived and taught Science for two years in Onamia, MN. Fosston, MN became her home for the next twenty-four years. In 1997, Jo moved to Grand Marais and a year later to Babbitt. Her son, daughter, step-son, two step-daughters, and all of their wonderful kids are her extended family. Her husband, Don, also served on the EBCH Board of Directors and sadly passed away in 2016.
Devon was born and raised in Ely and attended Lake Superior College and St. Scholastica in Duluth and South University in Georgia to achieve her MS in Nursing. She is an instructor for the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Mesabi Range College. She is married to her husband Brady, and has a daughter, Lucy. She enjoys teaching Sunday School for toddlers and preschoolers at Ely United Methodist Church and is honored to serve the community through the EBCH Foundation.
